The Altun Ha Village and Wood Working Complex (the "Project") at an elbow in the road where the Old North American Highway crosses into the Mayan Plantation.  The Project site is on both sides of the highway and is approximately 2 miles from the most visited tourist site in Belize - the Altun Ha Mayan Archeological Site. The Project will capitalize on its proximity to the Altun Ha Site and provide a much needed focal point where tourists can mingle with local craftsmen, artisans, and historians from throughout the region and learn about the Mayan culture, purchase fine wood products, and enjoy local cuisine on the shores of a water lily covered pond. (A Financing Package for this Project has been prepared. Please contact us to request a copy.)

The Project will have four main components:

A plantation style visitor center and restaurant(s) with a media center, which will showcase wood, agricultural, and other products and services manufactured on and related to the Mayan Plantation and Mayan Plantation branded products.

A “state of the art” wood working complex
that will manufacture products and handicrafts from wood harvested off the property. This facility will also employ and train local craftspeople in modern milling and furniture making techniques.

A Plantation House that will be used to administer forestry, agricultural, agri-tourism, and training operations throughout the Mayan Plantation.

The fourth component, which may be built out in the future, is anticipated to be a master planned residential and golf course community. It is anticipated that this community will function as a regional hub for medical, dental, business and governmental offices, as well as providing affordable homes, schools, and community and recreational facilities.
